50 Coconut Trees Planted on Untung Jawa Island

As many as 50 hybrid coconut tree seedlings were planted in the Sakura beach area and empty land near the RW 02 football field, Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-district, Seribu Islands.

Coconut trees have many positive impacts on life

Untung Jawa Island Urban Village Head, Sidartawan said the planting is in the context of greening and structuring the area as well as welcoming World Environment Day.

"Coconut trees have many positive impacts on life. One of them is to withstand abrasion and tidal waves," he expressed, Wednesday (6/5).

50 Productive Trees Planted at South Jakarta Land Office

He explained the planting involved the ranks of the Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, PPSU, RPTRA , LMK, Pokdarwis, RT/RW caretakers, and locals.

"This joint planting is proof of concern for the environment. I want this coconut tree to be looked after and cared for together so that it can grow well," he explained.

He added the number of trees planted could reduce the impact of global warming and other disasters. At the same time, it improves to the charm and beauty of Sakura Beach and its surroundings.

"It will continue to be done in stages, even intensified. We also urge people to protect the environment by planting at least one tree in their home environment," he added.

Untung Jawa Island Puja Berhias Pokdarwis Chairman, Rusli explained coconut tree is synonymous with the coast. Hence, its planting would increase greening and maintain food security.

"Coconut tree is a type of productive plant. Its presence will also add a cool atmosphere for residents and tourists," he closed.
